India Paragraph

So far in human geography class, I have learned a lot of stuff about India. I have learned about India’s population, India’s poverty, India’s problems with human trafficking, and the life in the slums of Mumbia. I also think that the movie Slum Dog Millionaire is a good and honest example of India, because it has all the problems and poverty that India in real life has.
In India poverty is a huge problem and many people are homeless or dying because they don’t have money to get themselves food or water. Many people live in shanti towns, which is basically a bunch of trash pulled together to make a house for themselves. It is sad to think about it because India has a population of 1,173,108,018 and 25% of all those people are living under the poverty line in India. Also another huge problem is Human Trafficking. This is when people own other people and they put them up for trade or money. This is a giant problem in India because some people think that they can own other people and make them do a lot of jobs for them. Human Trafficking is basically like slavery, and slavery is completely wrong and you should not be a loud to make other people do work for you unless they are getting paid in some way.
The lives in the Slums of Mumbia are very difficult, many people have barely any money and they will do absolutely anything to get some money to get themselves food or water. The people in the slums are very poor and the shanti towns that they usually live in are very crowded and busy.
The movie Slum Dog Millionaire is a great example of real India because it shows pretty much everything in that movie. It shows the poverty, the trafficking, what people will do for money, and how the people live in the conditions. I have learned a lot from the movie and I hope we continue to watch it in class.
I have learned a lot in class about India and their problems and I hope to continue learning about them and hopefully it will get better in their country.

Hard Times In Inda

Today in India there are many problems with human trafficking, child exploitation, and forced labor. India is one of the worst countries with these problems, and it needs to be stopped.
Human Trafficking is when people own other people and they put them up for trade or money. This is a giant problem in India because some people think that they can own other people and make them do a lot of jobs for them. Human Trafficking is basically like slavery, and slavery is completely wrong and you should not be a loud to make other people do work for you unless they are getting paid in some way.
Another huge problem in India is child exploitation and that is when people will use children to have sex with or just get pleasure from. An estimated number of 158 million children at the ages of 5-14 are engaged in child labor because they were rapped or forced into bad situations. I think that this is disgusting and that they should not ever be putting children into these problems, because then the young girl will have to deal with a little child and raise it while she is still being raised.
The other main problem in India is forced labor. Forced labor is a horrible problem because while they are doing the labor and getting threatened they are most likely not getting any food or drink, and both of these things could lead to death for the person anyway. It should be a law in India that people cannot make you do anything and if they are you betting be getting a little bit of pay.
I think India needs to work on many of these problems and I hope everything gets betting for the people in that country.

Notes for India and China

1.21 billion people in India

1.35 billion people in China

Two out of every five people in the world - and are equal in size to the world population in 1950

China and India are both bigger in population then the whole western hemisphere

China's life expectancy is 73

India's life expectancy is 64

Chinese and Indians still live in rural areas - 55% and 70% and China will most likely become Urban by 2015

Migration does not effect these counties that much because the countries are huge as it is. China is getting a lot of immigrants from North Korea, and India is getting many immigrants from Bangladesh

Total Fertility Rate or both countries used to be six children per woman but it has calmed down and now China is only supposed to have one child and India has a TFR of 2.8

    HUman Geo long break homework

    Human Geo: Part 1
In my future when I am done high school and college, I would definitely like to be doing something that has to do with sports, either a trainer, coach, or even a physical therapist. The only place I could see myself living in is the East Coast of the United States. I want to stay on the East Coast mainly because that’s where lacrosse is played for the most part. On the East Coast I would like to go to Florida maybe, and North or South Carolina. I would like to move to Florida because of the warmer weather and it is a huge peninsula on the ocean. Also, I would want to go to one of the Carolina’s because it has the Ocean. So definitely having the huge bodies of water are pull factors for me to come live there. Another pull factor for those two places is that they are both in the United States, so that means I still have freedom of speech and religion. I can’t think of many push factors for those two states except for the fact that, being on the ocean like that there could be some pretty bad storms. Maybe another push factor from those two places could be jobs because I’m sure many illegal immigrants try to go to Florida or the Carolina’s to enjoy the weather and to get money, so finding a job could be a problem possibly. I definitely would not like to leave the United States because all the other countries are not free like we are, and the U.S. has basically everything a person could want, land, water, jobs, money, and freedom, so there is no reason for me to leave. I will most likely be staying on the East Coast because the sport I love is down here and so are the places I would want to move to.
     Human Geo: Part 2
After speaking with my parents and grandparents I learned that both my parents and immediate grandparents were all born in Maryland. My great grandparents on my mom’s side were born in Maryland and Massachusetts. My great grandparents on my dad’s side were born in Maryland, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. It is known by my maternal grandparents that our ancestors came from Ireland and Whales. It is not known however who our first ancestor was and when they arrived in the United States. My grandpa on my dad’s side also knows little about his ancestry, he was told growing up however that some of his ancestors came from Scotland. My grandma on my dad’s side has been looking into her ancestors for a few years. She has found that the first ancestor on her dad‘s side of the family came from Graben, Germany in August of 1750 to Philadelphia. His name was Caspar Defibaugh and he migrated by a ship called the Edinburg. He came to buy property. His wife and kids did not come at first but planned to meet up with Caspar in the future. When his wife and kids came to join him his wife got very sick and died. Caspar then remarried and moved from Lancaster P.A. to Bedford County P.A. When he was done moving around he bought one hundred and fifty acres, two horses, and a cow. Later he and his older son began work on the Defibaugh Tavern. It took many years but Caspar Defibaugh finally made his Tavern and became the Baker in it, and the Tavern still exist today. I really loved learning all this information and I think it is good to know about your family and where you came from. I think it is amazing that so many people come from so many different places.

    what we think

I thought it was insane that it only took two years for facebook to get 50 million people and it took the radio thirty give years to get 50 million people to have
